OUTLINED DUTIES OF EACH OFFICE FOR
CAMPOVERDE GOLF SOCIETY
Captain
- To arrange a monthly General Committee Meeting and chair the same
- To organize and control all aspects of the Golf Society
- To present prizes at each booking day OR function where prizes are to be
handed out OR arrange for someone to do this job in his place
- To generally promote the best interests of the society
Treasurer
To collect and control all incoming funds and keep records of same
To present a monthly ‘Statement of Accounts’ at the General Committee
Meetings
To pay all expenses and keep records of same
To liase with the auditor
To allocate prizes
To attend each booking morning and log all fees paid
To make the necessary funds available for the payment of fees to the
golf club that we play at
Handicap Secretary
To prepare score cards for each meeting
To check and record all scores
To monitor and control all handicaps
To ensure that all necessary information is passed to the ‘web-site’
controller for publication on our web-site
To adjudicate on all matters relating to the ‘Rules of Golf’
To attend each booking morning to record the names of all players who
are participating in the next competition and answer any queries that may
arise
Venues Secretary
To contact selected golf courses and book same
To negotiate the lowest possible rates for the Society
To attend each booking morning to clarify any questions that may arise
Competitions Secretary
To prepare a forward schedule of competitions (6 months in advance)
To clearly outline the type of competition being played and the rules
associated to it
To assist, where necessary, in the preparation of the score cards
In conjunction with the Booking Secretary to produce a final result
sheet of each competition
To ensure that the Results Sheet is posted as quickly as possible
Bookings & Start times Secretary
To prepare Start Sheet for each event
To liaise with the Treasurer to ensure that monies received for
competitions balance with the start sheet listings
To allocate start times
To ensure that the golf club has a copy of our start sheet at least 5
days before we are due to play
Secretary
- To attend all committee meetings and record minutes thereof
- To provide an abbreviated set of minutes to be published on our website
each month AND post a hard copy on our notice board
- To produce minutes for distribution to each committee member
- To keep approved copies of every minute taken
- To ensure that all committee members with minuted actions follow them
through
Social Secretary
- To arrange social events for the society
- To ensure that we receive the most favourable rates for any social event
- To prepare a yearly schedule of events in advance
- To arrange table plans and meal choices for each person attending any
social function
- To liase with sponsors to ensure that we all have a ‘Win-Win’ situation
- To make announcements on our booking days to promote the social
intercourse of the society

To prepare any notices that may be required outside of the above
offices
To assist all officers whenever required
To attend each booking morning and assist with any queries that may
arise
To generally promote the best interests of the society
A final note:
All members of the committee should be prepared to assist any or
all of the other committee members wherever necessary
